SUGAR SHACK #3 2023 ~ SHORT EVENING DUE TO RAIN BUT LEARNED MORE ABOUT OUR CAR

 We knew there was a chance of scattered showers.  It got darker and cooler and you could smell the moisture so we followed the lead of the "veterans" (and our own desire to protect Mary Lou) and headed home around 6pm.  It started raining just after we got home.  One photo tells the story looking at that sky...    

Phil had his Diamond REO back out after figuring out his brakes.  We did learn quite a bit about our car in a short time.

We met a couple (Ed and Sue Brose) that know Bob Clark in Mitchellville.  Bob had the car before Gordy Jones.  Ed made a comment about the Slant 6 engine and now having a Hemi.  We got to talking and he told us Bob had the car and it was the way we see it now except for the engine swap.  Bob is working on a Studebaker now.  We learned who painted the car (Lee Welter in Mitchellville).  Ed said he would try to contact Bob and let him know we'd like to talk to him more about the car and its history.  Sounds like we're making a drive to Mitchellville soon 😀.
