I'm always looking for locations where I can get photos of Mary Lou that look old and timeless. This is Amick Ave in Beaverdale and has a stretch of brick street. I went out after 5pm knowing the sun was going down and not sure if that was the best time. I wanted the focus to be the brick and the car knowing there was a big lawn in the background. In hindsight, I could have pulled forward a bit more to capture more of the house I was trying to downplay. But they turned out nice and thankful to have my grandson's camera to capture every bit of light.

BRICK ROAD - MARY LOU ON LOCATION
My initial thought was focus on the brick and not the house behind, but this turned out to be the best of bunch.

IOWA STATE FAIR - 2025
Gary asked us last year if we wanted to have our car at The Iowa State Fair. It didn't work out with me getting a day off so this was to be our year. We even joined The Concrete Cruisers. We got up super early and got ready. Cindy was not feeling well at all and at 6:30am made the call she was not going. I had committed to having our car there plus getting there early to help Gary get cars parked so off I went. It was not the same but as hot as it was, it was for the best she was not there.
Something about seeing concession stands with your car.
Gary did a nice job on Channel 5. Said seeing cars on The Grand Concourse is a tradition like
The Butter Cow!
Fun surprise seeing longtime friend Steve Vickery and his wife Sharon.
Larry chased down the Gov for a chat.
I parked next to Steve Spauldin and his wife. They have a beautiful 1968 Chevelle. You can tell by the wind windows he said. They were in Panora and saw our car. Thought we should have one something. Said you have a "Barrett Jackson car".
Photo Dump - Pictures I didn't post on Facebook
I was heading home after a long hot day tooling along E. MLK and heard a spring-sounding noise and saw something rolling in the street next to the car. My first thought was I wonder who does that belong to? Crap! It's mine! You can see Mary Lou in the distance. I was very fortunate to find it in a big grassy median not run over and not down a sewer grate. I reached out to Gary Sanger because he has knockoffs as well. He told me how to put in back on.
