We've had people drive around and tell us we were out a taillight or at least a brake light. Bill was behind us once and let us know and just last weekend after Carfest, a young man on a motorcycle pulled up to Cindy's window at a stoplight (scared her) and politely told us the same thing.
I went on one of our Facebook groups for 1955/1956 Dodge, etc and asked how to get the bulb out. Just as easy as push and turn left and it pops up. So I got that out and then ordered in some 1157 bulbs. Went to replace today and got the bulb out easy enough but when I went to grab the new bulb, I heard a pop or snapping noise. It was the base of the socket that popped up and I didn't see a way to push back down. Again back to the Facebook forum. I ended up pushing the wires up more and the black piece popped all the way out and I could then turn it to line up with the "keyway" and then I was able to put in the bulb and turn right this time. And then back in the housing.
What I've also done is rearrange the trunk so my caddy is not on that side. The weight of it might have pulled that light out...there wasn't much slack to the wires.
